J06 Exam: Investment Principles, Markets and Environments
The CII's J06 exam forms part of the Diploma in Financial Planning. It is a
2-hour short answer question paper consisting of 15 questions, with a nominal pass mark of 55%. The CII recommend 100 hours of study for this paper, although this can vary greatly from person to person.
The exam syllabus covers how investment performance and decision making is affected by the economic environment and individual company performance; how risk is measured and managed; principles governing how to construct an investment portfolio; the range of investment management services available and how they are regulated and how their performance is evaluated.
